Karen began her yoga practice more than 14 years ago as a way to strengthen the muscles around her injured spine, and she quickly became infatuated with the depth and breadth of yoga, as a way to live. Karen is certified through Yoga Alliance (YTT 200), and is trained in vinyasa-style yoga with an emphasis on Iyengar and Ashtanga alignment principles. Karen participates in numerous yoga trainings throughout the year to continue understanding what she calls the many layers and complexities of the practice. Her classes focus on anatomy awareness in the postures and techniques that calm the busy mind, to ultimately achieve stability. Karen’s intention with every class is to help students find harmony and balance in their hectic lives, both on and off the mat. She endeavors to assist students in building strength, opening their hearts and finding stillness. “I want my students to discover their most authentic self, through the practice of asana, and to radiate that strength and grace in every facet of their life.”
