Kara Hochreiter

Yoga Teacher

I found yoga (or rather, yoga found me) after a series of unfortunate health events forced me to take a break from many of the other forms of exercise that I previously enjoyed. But, what started as a purely physical practice quickly transpired into so much more.

My mat is no longer just a place for me to move my body - it is where I go to find strength, clarity, compassion, and contentment amidst the chaos of everyday life. Yoga has helped me to know myself in a way that I never gave myself an opportunity to before and my goal as a teacher is to create a space for others to do the same. My hope is that, by sharing this practice with others, they may find whatever it is that they need in order to live a more authentic, meaningful, and fulfilling life.

When you come to my classes, you can expect an upbeat playlist, playful yet challenging transitions, and (optional) arm balances to help you build strength, cultivate self-trust, and ultimately get out of your head and back into your body.

When I’m not teaching or practicing yoga, you can find me playing around in the kitchen, going for a walk, checking out a new restaurant with my husband, or working with clients in my functional nutrition practice.
