Yoga Teacher

I am a resident of Reno/Sparks area with two daughters and one grandson (so far!). My husband and I decided to make this our home in 2010 when his employer offered to transfer him here. I have loved this area from day one!

I first began practicing yoga at a friend’s house when I was asked to join the class there in mid-2016. I was curious but didn’t know much about yoga. I was hooked after a couple of classes and eventually began taking classes at Yoga Pod where my teacher also taught her classes. I discovered there were so many wonderful classes to experience! When offered the opportunity to be part of the Yoga Pod family by volunteering as a Karma Yogi, I jumped at it. Four wonderful months later, I began working at the front desk where I still love to greet the members for their classes and make each one of them feel special!

In January 2020 I finally reached my goal of beginning my yoga teacher training! I was excited, and nervous, but I had seen so many students come and graduate from that program who shared their experiences, that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. When COVID caused the closing of Yoga Pod and everything seemed so uncertain, like most people I felt the stress that upheaval and change caused. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been immersed in my teacher training at that time, because it made all the difference in the world by focusing on the mindful principles of yoga practice and I graduated with the 200 hour certification in June 2020. I wasn’t able to teach initially because of the restrictions at that time, but after taking a teaching workshop on Yoga Nidra in 2021 once Yoga Pod re-opened, I decided that it was time to take that leap!

I am very passionate about teaching Yin and Nidra. Both practices are so essential to our overall wellbeing and healing that it’s my goal to make every member feel amazing after every class!
